Near the Esik city at an altitude of 1800 m there is Issyk Lake. The name of the reservoir is from the Kazakh word Esik, which means «door». In the 1963 the strongest mudflow came down, as a result of which many people died, carrying a natural dam the lake ceased to exist. Closer to 1990while the end of the damb construction the lake was restored to 3/4 of the previous volume.
A place of amazing beauty! Sometimes they say that it is something look like the Big Almaty Lake, but it’s not like that! They are different! The majestic scenery of the mountain, around it, fresh air, the opportunity to plunge into the lake, makes this place a favorite place to stay from the bustle and hot heat.
Excursion to Issyk lake will be complemented by a visit to the Turgen valley. There are a lot of waterfalls (about seven), coniferous and mixed forests, springs and lakes, medicinal plants and berries! No wonder they say that forests can give strength! Here you will feel it!
The valley stretches for 44 km. Where there is silence, wild nature and no people! You stand under the waterfall Bozgul, which through its stream struck a tunnel in the rock.
